Featuring a range of compression algorithms and processing modes, it accommodates various audio signals, making it suitable for mix bus applications and mastering tasks.

For those seeking transparency in their compression—especially in mastering scenarios—utilizing the AUTO or "AUTO A" envelopes is recommended. The PROGRAM envelope serves effectively for achieving a cohesive mix bus gluing effect, while the feedback configuration offers a vintage character to the compression process. When aiming for smoother compression, particularly for vocals and guitar, the RMS detector is an optimal choice.

Kompresor’s five processing modes enhance its flexibility, allowing users to switch from standard stereo (L/R) compression to more precise methods such as compressing either the mid (sum) or side (diff) signal exclusively, or focusing on individual left or right channels. Additionally, the DELTA feature enables users to better fine-tune compression parameters by monitoring solely the differences between uncompressed and compressed signals. An external side chain input is also available for scenarios where one signal needs to be ducked in relation to another.

Kompresor is primarily offered as an AUv3 effect. To utilize it as a plug-in, an AUv3 compatible host such as Garageband or AUM is required. The dedicated Kompresor application provides both a user manual and the ability to use Kompresor with a microphone input.
